Revive Earth – Because our grandchildren deserve a clean planet

Very well. You shall be asking now: “why I renamed the campaign and changed the content?” – The answer is: “sometimes when you are engaged in a cause, you forget about the real targets”.

That is exactly my case. I was quite uncertain, immature, and, somehow, bewildered.

So far, I would restate all may case, without lovely patriotic and exaggerated passionate claims of ecology.

Yes I am Ecologist, I care about Earth and its atmosphere, I care about my children and theirs. I care about yours too.

For that, Revive Earth is the new concept of Green Energy I would introduce and ask for your support, by which I aim to achieve a sustainable model of Electricity Generation directly from proper Urban Solid Waste treatment, either recycling and gasification.

So, first let me introduce who I am and what I do.

I am Brazilian Egyptian Exploration Geophysicist with 20 years of experience in O&G upstream services, and M.Sc. Geophysics. I have acted in Egypt, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, and Sudan to explore Oil and Gas.

In 2010 I started my small consulting company named “Latin American Geophysical” (please visit: www.latamgeo.com.br) to act in Hydrocarbon and Mineral ores exploration. In 2014 I have, as Decision maker, taken the initiative to start a Business Development sector aiming to help small to middle scale companies from around the world to unite gathering power to survive the difficult market of such a moment. And, as well, I returned to environmental and engineering services.

However, the Revive Earth idea has flashed my mind in November 2016, while watching a TV report about the top ten polluted cities in the world, on the top of them, the City of Cairo, the historical capital of Egypt and the home town of 25 (officially 18) millions, was listed.

As an energy Professional, I just could see the potential the Urban Solid Waste represents for Energy production and, on the other hand, as responsible for 35% of all Greenhouse Effect gases emitted in world.

I am not a technology creator, the Waste2Energy technology is active and varied for two decades now, otherwise there are many approaches aiming the same target but none, in my point of view, is integrated and completed.

During the past almost 2 years, I studied all technologies I could find, and contacted some of technology holders to discuss an entrance to Egypt and to promote them in Brazil. But it was not enough to overcome the bureaucracy involving the process in both countries. Also, there were many things missing in all processes.

As I said, I studied all possible approaches and processes and made a conclusive statement that: “none is a standalone” for that I worked to model the Revive Earth Concept.

My concept is simple and depends only on how achievements are ordered to be accomplished, so let me give a small resume about the Revive Earth Concept:

1.Collect waste and separate recyclables, (plastics in water draining and metallic by a magnet).

2.Dry organic and solid non-recyclables (like demolition residuals, Sewage sludge, Sludge from water treatment plant, etc).

3.Triturate all solid material (Organic and inorganic resulted from step 2).

4.Sift and separate inorganics (large particles) from organics (small particles).

5.Submit all organics to high indirect heat in a gasification chamber.

6.Collect residual ashes (2% of all inputs) and introduce, together with inorganics, into an oven of temperature 1800°C (3272° F) to melt it up removing all odors, magnetization and carbon/nitrogen content to obtain different kinds of bricks to be used in paving and flooring purposes.

7.Derive all residual gases from processes 5 and 6 to 4 steps of filtration eliminating all 5 GHE’s and releasing, only, Carbon Dioxide that benefits the atmosphere and the green coverage of the Earth.

Honestly, I need support to build my dream plant in small scale together with technologies owners and then spread the concept with cost reduction around the world.

I must let you be aware that the video associated with the campaign is a gather of 4 approaches, those I picked up to juxtapose the process I describe previously.

The support I request is directed to Latin American Geophysical to develop the prototype and, certainly, to make agreements.

I estimated the cost to be U$ 50,000.00 for a prototype able to process 2 tons of waste per day and, according to the organic content, produce between 50 to 100 kwh.
