When my time of the month comes, I complain a lot but when I saw a bustle video regarding homeless women dealing with their time of the month, I realised things can be more difficult. I never even thought about how hard it would be juggling homelessness and dealing with your cycle. It really helped put things into perspective, because while it may be a struggle, I at least have the advantage of having access to products that can help me. However, for homeless women, their cycle creates a crisis each and every month, on top of their issues with daily survival.
My ultimate goal is to make care packages containing reusable sanitary pads for the homeless women. Not only does it encourage responsible consumption and production, they don’t have to think about buying pads every month or throw the plastic wrappers after every usage, as these products can be used for 5-10 years!!
Remember, the homeless don't want to be on the streets. It's hard to better yourself when no one gives you a chance.
