Love that stretches around the world.
This is Daniel and Allison Ditinyak. We're happily married and more in love everyday.
Life gives you lemons, you squeeze them, move to Europe, work on your Master, and then figure out how your sugar will get to your lemonade.
Allison recently received an amazing opportunity; she was accepted into a highly respected program- Master of Cognitive Science at the University of Osnabrück, Germany. This is a huge steppingstone toward her career goals: leading neurolinguistic research for the therapy of autistic children of whom she has grown so very fond. She was ecstatic for the opportunity at her fingertips and, with the given short-notice acceptance letter, she was gone three weeks later.
Now, we are working on the biggest step our marriage will have taken until now: bringing us physically back together overseas and moving our fantastic family (including our 6- & 7-year old amazing dogs [more like children], Lilah and Jean) to Germany. We have lived together for the past seven years, been married for four, graduated high school together, graduated college together, and created one of the happiest home lives anyone could wish for. We want to continue having this; Skype is not the place for our family.
When not at work, Daniel is working on his German language skills, as well as his musical skills, in order to make a smooth transition into the new country and complete his German proficiency test. After this, his documents will allow him to work and study as a legal resident of Germany. His goal is to enroll in an institut for Music Therapy and work on his career in this field also to work with autistic children. Unfortunately, living in the US and in Germany simultaneously under only one income has proved challenging and the moving expenses have surpassed our projected budget, including Lilah's steep diagnostic veterinary bill.
We are hoping that with your help, we can rise above the obstacles placed on our way to a new beginning and lessen the turbulence of the months to come. Any help is welcome and appreciated.
Bringing our family together is our priority, help us make this happen. Thank you in advance for your support.
