Hi my name is Samantha and my sons' name is Gavin. When i was 18 i had Gavin and i married his father....when Gavin was 3 months old his dad got out of the military and convinced me life in Chicago with his family was way better then life in North Carolina with my family so we moved with in a year living in Chicago my ex husband started being abusive. After a few different instances i told my mom and she told me to take Gavin and come home and i don't deserve that. The first chance i got i booked a one way flight and took Gavin and left everything and moved in with my bother. About a month living back in NC i got a job waiting tables most of my money went to daycare and diapers food and clothes. Then one day a sheriff showed up at my work to serve me papers about court in two weeks in Chicago and i had no money so i went to legal aid and they took to long to process all my paper work so i had no one to go to court for me so i didn't go. A few days later i was served with another set of papers that gave me the option to either give up Gavin or go to jail, so i gave him to his dad. I tried to visit with Gavin but i was scared that his dad wouldn't let me see him when i got there, so i spent 3 years saving up to go to court to get Gavin. The judge granted me one three day visit per month and a week for spring, summer and Christmas break but every time i go there is cost me around $1500 a visit for hotel flight and car and food and activities and i have to pay child support and day care expenses. I am running out of money and my lawyer saying in 6 months we can go back to court and she says i have a great chance of getting full custody of Gavin. So please help get Gavin back.
