About Reunion

Reunion is a Social Event Planner (SEP), designed to make event planning that much easier. Its main goal is to reunite people through the power of various events that take place within the UK. From clubs to live performances, cinemas to restaurants and more. Reunion is about bringing people together not through the net but socially connecting people in reality.

Reunion host a bunch of features that have reinvented the conventional event planner and have made it go social. Features include:

• Search current or future events whether it be club events, restaurant events, or friend(s) event,
• Create private or public events,
• Invite friends to created events or to current or future events,
• Search current offers and promotions in your city,
• Share your experiences with friends or other people via other social media sites,
• Follow friends and other peoples and shared experiences,
• Look at friends and others Reunion Tree(s) (RT) and compare it with yours.

In addition to the above features, Reunion bursts with more features, distinguishing it from other event planners as well as social media sites. A lot of people nowadays are making bonds through socially networking but this approach is not always the best approach to meet people as users have never met each other yet they follow each other. Reunion is different and it’s different for several reason one of which is that it lets users to meet up at events and lets people interact with one another. This allows users to engage in conversations and actually get to know people first before sharing of contact details commences. Once users have shared contact details, Reunion will tell the user at which event they met each other, plus also allow the user to view the individuals ‘Reunion Tree’ to see who else they have in common to each other from that event alone.

Extra Features

The Reunion Tree is a feature that expands each time the user attends an event. The more events you attend the bigger your Reunion Tree gets. The RT also provides history for where you met your new found friends but also allows you to follow other people so you are always aware for what events they will be attending next unless they make private events which only invited members have access to viewing.

Reunion also has other features such as:

• Video Gallery

Users can share 10 second recorded videos and post them to other media sites or share them with friends that didn't make it to the event as 'tease videos'.

Reunion is a whole new experience and defines what real socializing is all about. Reunion brings people together; old, new or future relationships to one prime location where people actively engage in communication and socialize whilst having fun in some of the best events host by various venues.

What made me what to develop the event planner?

I came about this after having my own experience where I had to make a special event for me and my old mates that I had not seen for like years' After we separated and went our own ways during university times and only during the holiday periods were we then able to meet up. However, this was always a real issue as neither of us knew when the others were on holiday or what they were up to or even worse, could be bothered to pick up a phone and call everyone especially after phone tariffs had gone up with less minutes included in them for the less expensive tariffs. So I decided to come up with this idea and that way I could send a ‘Multiple invite’ for an event so that everyone could reply back to me with an answer and I’d know who’s able to attend and not. In addition, everyone else could also see who’s going to the event, people always liked to ask me (the host) ‘who’s attending?’ before making up their own mind.

I also thought instead of always having to search on the internet for hours to find an event taking place, why not get companies or clubs or organisations to place their main events in one app so that that way me and my buddies could all meet there. In addition, being a university student, we always wanted the discounted stuff yet at times it was hard to find special promotions or discounts, so I thought, let’s put two and two together and come up with a great concept that will defeat the purpose of having individual searches taking place just to get somewhere or find discounted goods and promotions.

It was always good to do a ‘Reunion’ just to catch up on life and start from where we had left off before going our separate ways hence why I came up with this concept designed for everyone. I believe that Reunion will make a difference to people’s lives of how they stay connected to their loved ones.

Where is the money going?

The money raised will be used for development of the website as well as aid in the development of the App. The main goal right now is to get the website made first then I can start implementing the app version.

So far I have managed to invest money in research as well as development for the App screens. This will be a great opportunity to use the money that will be funded and start and finish the website for Reunion.
