Return to Hope Village

My family and I founded an orphan care and community development project in the Lower Shire Valley in the heart of Malawi in 2003. We named it Hope Village to symbolise the hope that we wanted to provide for the many children who have been orphaned from birth or after birth, due to illness, poor medical care, or HIV/AIDS.

The local people and volunteers of Hope Village need funding to continue this amazing work. My family wish to return to Hope Village where they lived for 8 years, to see how things have changed and to see everyone that they have been working alongside and helping. It has been 4 years since we have been back, far too long!

This is a project that is very close to our hearts and it was such a difficult decision to leave, however finances have prevented us from returning as soon as we had hoped.

We want to go back to Malawi for two weeks and lend our helping hands once again and support the team of volunteers and local people, who are giving their lives to help orphaned children who are often very sick, have HIV, or are malnurished due to lack of nutritious food.

As you can probably guess, flights are very expensive, and cost between £700 and £1000 per person return trip. We are desperate to get back out there to see the people we helped for so long, and to encourage and help the local people and the volunteers we left in charge at Hope Village.
