Campaign Story
Hello family and friends,
As many of you may or may not know we have a running group here on Guam (Mayhem Misfits) that participate in numerous 5k, 10k, Half Marathons and Relays throughout the year. We decided that we are going to run for a cause for our upcoming 44th Perimeter Relay which is 48.6 miles (April 27th, 2013) and donate what we raise to a very important cause, MilitaryWorkingDogAdoptions.com. As many of you know, James is soon going to be reunited with his retired MWD Cezar. Many handlers have a hard time funding the transport for their dog when the time of their MWD's retirement does come. We were lucky enough to have the funds saved up. Transport from state to state can be costly, but from country to country can be even worse. Just an airline approved kennel can cost between $175-200 (if they cannot be provided one), add on vet fees to be cleared for travel, entry permits as well as plane fees and the cost can total over $1,000 for just one dog to be reunited with their handler or adoptive parent. And this does not even include any medical fees that may be incurred due to the animals work related disability/injury. MilitaryWorkingDogAdoptions.com is a non-profit organization that helps aid handlers/adoptive parents financially to be reunited with their dogs, as well as helping with medical costs when needed. It would be such a shame for both the dogs and handlers to not be together just because of money issues. These dogs are veterans of this country as well; they give their lives as well as protecting many handlers and allowing them to return safety to their families. Let's get at least one more dog to live a "couch life", and one more handler reunited with their best friend. Our goal is to have each donation be $48.60 (for each mile of the perimeter relay) but of course we will take any donation big or small. Thank you for your support.

Proud of you guys!!!! Thanks for all you are doing for these wonderful animals. Your service to our country (both of you)...is greatly appreciated.! The work these animals do is priceless......They deserve a great life when their time of service is done. Thank you for ensuring this can become a reality for them.
