Retired but not tired is a initiative that has been bothering me for a while.
I personally know 6 old people that simply cannot afford to live on their pension money. They are still willing and able to work for an extra income. One person in specific gets R3000 a month from the pension fund, but R1800 of that goes towards rent, R800 goes towards groceries and food, that leaves this person with R400 left for a whole month to survive.
How many of us can go out and spend a quick R400 on take-aways or just random items? R400 is nothing!!
This initiative is to help and aid a lot of Old retired people in need, weather it is up-skilling them to be able to successfully complete a task at a new vacancy, sponsoring them food and parcels on a monthly basis, help cover some costs (Medical) here and there to relieve some financial stress.
These are our people, our people that set the bench-mark and led the way for us, they raised us and helped where they could.
It is time that we support and give back what they've done for us.
They don't need much or a lot, BUT AT THE END EVERY LITTLE DONATION HELPS ONE PERSON.
