Crowdfunding for post earthquake restoration

The Palazzo Farrattini is a XVI century architectural jewel designed by the famous Renaissance architect, Antonio Da Sangallo. As an ancestral Farrattini family home, it was inherited in 1985 by Ettore Farrattini Pojani. At that time the palazzo was in very poor condition as no maintenance was ever done for almost 60 years. With love and dedication, Ettore put all his efforts and resources in restoring, little by little, the first two floors of the building and gardens and turned it into a B&B and events venue, providing lifelong memories for many. Plans for continuous improvement and restoration of the mezzanine level and top floor were suddenly stopped by the destructive last year’s earthquakes in Umbria.

Although the epicenter was a distance from Amelia, the earthquakes were felt, damaging the walls and a section of the precious XVI c. frescos of the ballroom which suffered a detachment from the wall and risks being lost forever.

No financial support is considered from the government. The immediate need to restore and save the frescos and other sections of the building are the objectives of this crowdfunding. In addition, these damages have caused suspension of the B&B license and all special events by City Hall officials.

We hope you will consider this restoration project and gladly donate what you can to help preserve this very important historical and architectural monument and be able to come back or come for the first time to enjoy its beauty and its history.

With deep appreciation,
