In 2017, after a few years of legal and life problems brought on as direct results of youthful poor decisions, I began rebuilding my life with the most amazing human I have ever found. We'd known each other since veterinary technical school and finally, after almost eight years, decided to do what we'd both known we wanted but had never had the courage to say: be together.

We moved to rural Arkansas, where I grew up, to find a new adventure together. After a few months of adjusting and readjusting, we both landed working at the same veterinary clinic. Just about a week ago, a long shot at a great deal came through and we find ourselves with our first home. Which is what brings me to crowdfunding. My truck is the same I had at 18 years old, a 1994 Dodge Dakota. As much as I love the old girl, she's in her death throes. Her car, a 2006 Scion, isn't far behind with some 240,000 miles on the odometer. Her family is in Missouri and so the poor Scion has to be relied on to make the approximately 650 mile round-trip.

We both love our jobs deeply, and our employer could scarcely be any better. But this is rural Arkansas. The population sign to the town in which we work reads less than 1000. Because of those things, the money is not great. And that's why I thought of crowdfunding. While I do have numbers in mind that would make things easier, I know that little bits help.
