Cochayoc is a small Andean community in the district of Lares, the Urubamba Department, the Cusco Region. The community is situated in the altitude of 3950 m /12960 ft.

If you like to visit it, you can go by car (4 hours of driving). There is also a local transportation departing from Cusco, Pisac or Calca towards Lares (2 hours). At Lares, you need to change for a private transport to Cochayoc (2 hours).

These Andean people make their living by farming and cattle breeding lacking any industrial facilities. The production is usually aimed at cultivation of potatoes and sheep farming.

While family stay in the community to look after land and sheep. Dry season´s nights are very cold reaching temperatures around -5°C while during the days is often 5°C. Please note that they do not use/know any heating.

Today this community is closed for the Coronavirus (COVID 19). They are lonely without who help them. Responsible People Foundation would like to help this community. we need to carry feeding, medicine and warm clothes for the children. On June will start the dry season and its cold in ths community. Help us to help them.
