After graduating from high school, I attended a private college for two and a half years, some of that time online remotely, some of the time on campus. During that period, I switched degrees, but in the end neither was satisfactory enough for me to continue pursuing. At the same time, I was unable to take out any more loans, and so, unable to pursue any other avenues, I have since stayed at home, working to pay off my debt.
I am always looking for ways to improve and reach my goal of becoming debt free. After almost four years of working to pay off my debt, I have decided to reach out to others who may be so gracious as to aid me in this journey. I have also begun utilizing Dave Ramsey's teachings to speed up my journey.
For those who wish to help, I would like to thank you with small handcrafted gifts. Either I can contact you with a list of items to choose from, or feel free to make a request. Those things I do not know how to make, in most cases I am willing and able to learn, though it will take longer to receive.
Since I have observed friends and family who have dealt with debt, I have decided to avoid romantic relationships or at least put off marriage till my debt is paid off. Debt changes relationships, and I want to avoid bringing tension into a marriage as long as it is avoidable. As they say, “debt free is the way to be.”
During college, one of the ways I would relax was by writing poetry. I am working on a way to organize and publish a small book of poetry to sell. Likewise, though not started till after college, a friend and I have been writing what is developing into a trilogy of novels in the hopes of them bringing in a small amount to help us with finances. Still, both these ventures involve money to get them going, thus they can only go so far till I can raise that money. Both are nearly complete, though only the first of the novels, and the novel needs to undergo more editing before being presented to a professional editor.
Making crafts has been another source of relaxation for me over the years. From crochet to some simple metal engraving, I have worked on a variety of items, and have been working on creating samples for products to sell online.
S.A.R. stands for Search and Rescue. Once I am debt free, my dream is to volunteer for Search and Rescue, and train a dog to work with me. I also have ideas for possibly making improvements to S.A.R. in certain situations, but more thought, experience, and a lot of training will be needed before those ideas could be presented to the S.A.R. community.
If you are not interested or unable to donate, I'd love some encouragement as I work my way through this. Thank you for your interest and time!
