Resource Center for Tassia Slum

I am seeking funds to help establish a resource center for children in Tassia Slum in Embakasi, Nairobi Kenya. There have emerged several private learning centers to help provide basic education for pupils and students in these schools. However, the poverty situation which forms there background mean they cannot access good materials such as books and other necessary resources. In fact, they find it difficult to do any after school reading since they do not have the necessary calm environment to read and do home work. Further, they cannot access textbooks or any other literary materials. Computer access is an dream they cannot even imagine. the end result has been a disadvantaged community where children do not have hope of anything in the days to come. I intend to set up a community resource center to enable them access books, computers and conducive environment to conduct personal studies. It is a course that will help eliminate several sad stories while bringing smiles to several faces.
