Resilience & Empowerment Talks for Adults & Youths

Good Day!

I started this campaign in the hopes of raising funds to run a series of empowerment talks for adults and youths in 2019. I started the Grit Club to help individuals gain life skills such as resilience and positivity to overcome personal challenges, and to build personal growth and success.

The talks will be held in every quarter of 2019 and each session will have a specific topic of focus, such as financial literacy for women, building self esteem for youths etc. Guests speakers will be invited to share their personal success stories with the participants and through the talks and Question & Answer sessions with the speakers, participants will gain tools and insights to better handle their personal challenges in life.

The objective of Grit Club is to spread positivity and possibilities. The hope is to create a platform for people who have overcome personal challenges to share and support others who can learn and find the encouragement and motivation to be stronger and happier for themselves.

In order to run the quarterly talks in 2019, I will need to fund-raise to cover some of the operating costs. I have provided the breakdown of the fundraising required for 1 session of the talk below:

Rental of venue - $500 for half day (I have sourced for venues to benefit social businesses and persons with disabilities)

Refreshments - $300 ($5 per person, each session targeting 60 participants)

Materials - $100 (printing of materials, writing materials, logistics)

Honorarium - $100 (token of appreciation for invited guest speakers)
