Research Master in Cognitive Neuroscience

Hi, I'm Sevilay! I enjoy growing plants and taking care of them. I have a kitten that I met in the harsh conditions of winter and now I share my home with. In most of my remaining time from reading articles, I take part in volunteering projects that focus on the education of children with lower socioeconomic status.

I am honored to announce that I have been admitted to the Cognitive Neuroscience research master at Radboud University, the Netherlands.

I graduated from the Middle East Technical University (Turkey), with B.Sc. Early Childhood Education, and Psychology minor (Respectively 3.83/4.00, 3.75/4.00). Now I have double major in Sociology and I will be graduating in July 2022.

I believe that people should use educational sciences, psychology, sociology, and communication science together, not separately, to understand human behavior and developmental processes. My ambition is to become a cognitive neuroscientist by adopting a multilevel approach that is from genes to neurons, brain, cognition, interaction, and society. Master programme in Cognitive Neuroscience would enable me to fulfill this purpose through its interdisciplinary approach and the technological opportunities it offers. I would be proud and excited to take my next step at one of the best universities in the Netherlands, Radboud University.

During my five years of higher education in Turkey, I covered my living expenses through the scholarship of the Turkish Education Foundation. Moreover, I gained experience of attending internship at the University of Warwick and Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, with a grant of 2400 Euros in total, which I was entitled to receive within the scope of Erasmus Internship in 2018 and 2021.

Unfortunately, I cannot afford the tuition fee even though I have been admitted to that competitive master's program, which is a great step for my academic career. I plan to work part time for 64 hours per month during the master's program, but this is only enough to meet my living expenses. Could you please help me meet the tuition fee, which is 34000 Euros in total for 2 years?

My only goal is to become a neuroscientist who can use my competencies in education, psychology and sociology together. I strongly believe that through this program, I can make novel contributions to the neuroscience literature. This program would grant me the skills, experience and resources for my academic career.

The only drawback I face is due to the policies of inequality of opportunity in education. The slightest contribution will be a great hope on the way that leads me to my goal.
