Research/Fieldwork in Russia

Aim of the research

Everyone knows that Russia is a huge country. We all know the stereotypes about Russia, but what is the reality?

The reality is much more divers.  There are so many people, so many different kind of people, so many different kind of culture. It is a world on it's own. 
My research focuses on the modern Russia, mainly the social and cultural aspects. 
Exploring whole Russia is financially impossible (unless GAZPROM decides to fund me :)), so I decided to choose some geographically important locations, in western-central-eastern Russia.  

Unique aspect of my trip will be a blog. There I will post interesting facts, stories, pictures, experiences about my trip. It will give me a chance to stay in touch with my funders and get a bigger audiance to follow my trip, so to learn more about Russia!

Why I need fieldwork?

"The only source of knowledge is experience" this quotation is from one of the greatest man in history, Albert Einstein. Organizing a fieldwork/expedition nowadays is very challenging, it takes a lot of planning, administartion and most importantly money. 
With my research I want to contribute to the society. Showing that certain countries offer more then we think.
The foundation of my research can be done (basically) anywhere. Reading western sources helps to make a solid background for my research, but I want to take a step forward, and show the other side of the coin. It is always better to experience yourself how things works, then reading other's opinion.
