Research expedition to Madagascar

I will be travelling to Madagascar for two weeks to work with researchers, scientists and academics from Operation Wallacea. I will be assisting with every aspect of their research.

I will spend a week in the Mahamavo dry forests, this area hosts a large number of rare, endangered and range restricted species, these forests currently receive no formal protection. Data collected at this site will help to establish the forest as a community managed protected area for sustainable use.

For the second week I will be at the Nosy Be Marine Research camp. I will help complete annual surveys of the reef fish and coral communities to assess the effectiveness of the national park in protecting the reefs.
