Campaign Story
The Jazzy Rainbow is a live music (jazz) venue established in March 2003 and is one of the longest running independent grassroots live music clubs in South Africa. Generally it is a difficult task to run a jazz venue all over the world, but just at the time when our bookings were increasing, another disaster struck us: COVID19. Since Monday 16 March 2020, all booked shows have been cancelled and a day later we closed our venue indefinitely with zero income and without any safety net and financial back up.
Yesterday, 23 March 2020, our president told us we are grounded and must stay at home. The Jazzy Rainbow had to send its staff home indefinitely too. At this stage we have no idea how to cover the ongoing costs coming to us monthly and we therefore hope to get some outside help from you and concerned people who appreciate live music and art in general to help us over the next few months with our basic running costs.
