Campaign Story
Most Basotho working in informal jobs such as construction, nannies, etc are stranded in South Africa during this lockdown with no means of food or rent to name a few. These folks do not qualify for SA government support or food parcels that are currently being delivered to homes.
In light of the above, I have teamed up with a few friends to set up a fund to help where we can, particularly with food, rent and other necessities. The beneficiaries are Lesotho nationals who are not earning an income as a result of the lock down. We are currently focusing on those in Johannesburg for ease of reach and logistics. We have already identified a handful of those in dire need of food and if you know of others in surrounding areas, please reach out. We are targeting delivery of food parcels on 2 weekends; Saturday 26th and 27th April, as well as 2nd and 3rd May 2020.
I also urge my fellow friends and acquaintances in other provinces to reach out and offer help to fellow Lesotho nationals in those provinces. Sejo senyane hase fete molomo.
We are still looking for more volunteers to contribute to this noble cause in any way they can. Contributions may come in a form of food, vouchers, cash, etc.
Ntja-peli hae hloloe ke sebata, etsoe matsoho a hlatsoana. Likhomo
