Inter Aid is a non-profit Organization operating in Somalia. We have an educational program for Girls in Somalia. We seek to support Girl child education through a program called Leave No Girl Child Behind (LNGCB) in education. Girls in Somalia are more marginalized in accessing education as compared to boys. This is due to cultural believes. Girls are married off while still young at the age of less than 14 years for economical and cultural reasons. As Inter Aid, we strive to support Girl child to complete at least basic education by providing humble safe spaces for learning. This will also include conducting community campaigns to safe the Girl child and help in promoting enrollment in schools.
The video was created by the European Union (EU), this video addresses the problem of female education and looks at why many Somalian girls do not go to school. It then showcases a local project created by the governments of Puntland and Somaliland in partnership with the to counter the low education level among girls. The situation is worse in South Central Somalia as the level of girls enrollment in schools is lower than that of boys.
