150 years ago, in 1869, an American missionary couple called the Lindleys came to South Africa to establish a private school for black girls (Please see Inanda.org).
To mark this extraordinary milestone Inanda Seminary High School is raising funds to build a multi-purpose centre estimated at R3.8 million/ $260 275. The centre will enable students to partake in indoor sports activities while also providing a facility for the extension work the institution undertakes in the surrounding poor Inanda community. For example, the centre will also be a venue for computer skills training and for the impactful teacher enrichment programmes Inanda Seminary has developed for surrounding schools.
All funds raised beyond the R3.8m target will be used towards students’ bursaries. Fees are R16 000/quarter or $1 095/quarter (exchange rate $1 = R14.6).
Thank you in advance for your contribution to the legacy of this excellent historic boarding school for girls.
