My name is Sakhiseni Joseph Yende, a young South Africa who was born and raised by a single parent with my other siblings in one of the disadvantaged township known as Piet Retief. Notwithstanding, this has not tarnished and restricted me in achieving desired outcomes, as I have completed my Master's Degree at the Tshwane University of Technology (2017).

This is an incredible opportunity for me and I will strive as hard as I can to best represent me and reward those who have granted me a chance to prove such. Despite financial hardships have always done what is necessary to further my education. Relocating from South Africa to the UK (University of Leeds) for the duration of my PhD presents a huge financial challenge.
My PhD is imperative to me because I intend to fill the gap in the literature, contribute to the body of knowledge by exploring the core impact and challenges of the death of performing arts theatres in South Africa, by providing in-depth insight into the discipline, and bring innovative remedies to these challenges. This study is I intend to develop tools that will enhance the challenges experienced by performers in South Africa. I also strongly believe that my Ph.D. topic is valuable to the goals of the performing art theatres worldwide, in the government and South African universities.
This unconditional offer represents to me an opportunity to fully, focus my attention to address the challenges experienced by performers and contribute to the paradigm shift that is currently taking place in the realm of performing arts theatres in South Africa and across the globe. Completing my studies abroad will assist me to plough back in South Africa Performing Arts theatres, as I am passionate about this country and believe in possibilities. I will strive for the best when the financial opportunity is granted to me.
