My mother, Evelyn, has been at the St. Luke's Medical Center, Q.C. since October 16, 2019. We were only informed two weeks prior that she has a rare form of aggressive stomach cancer called Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma. Her oncosurgeon has recommended that our mother would need to have her whole stomach removed. As a family, we have decided that would be the best course of action.
We were able to prepare the necessary funds for the operation however, due to my mother's weakened condition, there was an internal leak after her surgery and had to undergo another operation to resolve the issue. The additional bills due to the second operation and the efforts to stabilize her condition has already depleted the amount that we have prepared for her stay at the hospital.
She has been staying at the Progressive Care Unit section of the hospital since October 23, 2019. Each day adds at least PHP 75,000 to our final bill. The pace of the recovery has not been optimal thus extending our already prolonged stay.
We are hoping that you could help our mother, Evelyn, continue her battle with cancer.
