Hi everyone! My name is Joel and I'm from South Africa. My life revolves around music. In fact, I am a working (session) musician. Even though my love and passion is music, I am still full time student , working as a musician to earn an income. I am a pianist (classical with my Grade 8 and jazz), vocalist, musical director and arranger. I currently serve in my local church and various outreach projects, sharing music.

Due to the nature of the live music industry, certain gear/equipment is needed in order to partake and work. Earlier this month, the most essential part of my gear broke. This piece of equipment is called an In-Ear Monitor used to hear yourself on stage (Depicted in my profile picture and other images). In simple words, it is an earphone but an EXTREMELY expensive earphone. In the live music industry, it is one of the most basic requirements in order to receive work. With my In-Ear Monitors broken, I am now limited to the work and gigs I can play. I have done my best efforts to save the required $1300 but on a student budget this has proven difficult along with the exchange rate of my weak local currency, the ZAR Rand that is almost R16 to $1. The raised funds would solely go towards replacing my In-Ear Monitors.

I would like to humbly request any donation into my situation. This would not only be an investment in my own life but would re-open the doors to being a successful musician. I really appreciate your time reading my story and any donations.

Many thanks and God Bless,
Joel
