Over the past six months we have been very busy setting up a new business within Merseyside, to support sufferers of mental ill-health into employment and work with businesses to create positive mental health workplaces.  At this early stage our two directors have been using personal IT equipment to carry out business related tasks.  For one director this included an old laptop which has recently developed a number of hardware faults.  We have sought advice from an IT specialist and it seems the cost of fixing this laptop would likely outweigh the benefits of purchasing a new one.

Unfortunately this is not something we have budgeted for, nor is it a cost we can currently justify, however the lack of a laptop for one of our directors, who travels regularly, is restricting us from growing the business.  That's where GoGetFunding comes in.  We want your help to raise a minimum of £320 to allow us to purchase a new laptop, enabling both our directors to continue to work on business tasks while at home and while travelling.

About InFocus

Formed in November 2014, InFocus is a community interest company setup to support sufferers of mental ill-health into employment, while working with businesses to create positive mental health workplaces. Around 91 million working days are lost within the UK every year as a result of mental ill-health, costing UK employers more than £26 billion. Workers in the UK take an average of 5.3 days off a year for reasons such as stress, anxiety and depression.

90% of people out of work due to mental ill-health want to be in work but face barriers in entering the workplace. Employment can improve wellbeing by giving people a social identity, sense of purpose and achievement, and a support network of social contacts.

Our aim at InFocus is to tackle these two issues head on, creating a more socially responsible society, and building a brighter future. Through InFocus Minds we provide individuals with the services they need to build confidence, skills and experience, enabling them to re-enter the workplace, or in some cases, take up employment for the first time. By working closely with businesses our InFocus Workplaces scheme promotes positive mental health within the workplace, while giving us a better understanding of what employers need, allowing us to tailor the services we offer to both individuals and businesses.

As a community interest company we operate on a not-for-profit basis, any profits we do make are invested back into the business to support frontline services. Being a C.I.C allows us to adapt as we grow, and as society grows, ensuring we can continue to offer great service and be sustainable well into the future.

Rewards

We'll support your business or place of work to be a positive mental health workplace free of charge for 12 months, subject to terms and conditions.

  • Great business, best of look InFocus. It's frustrating setting up a business when the small hiccups can cause such big problems, so I hope you reach your target!
