Urgent medical treatment

Dear All,

My son Andrey was beaten on September 21, 2018 and was severally injured. He was taken to Dubai Rashid Hospital and stayed in a coma for 14 days. After he was awaken, he was transferred to the general ward of the hospital. He suffered serious brain damage and is in need of specialized treatment for rehabilitation which Rashid Hospital will not provide.

I would like to take him back to Russia for treatment, but the hospital will not release him until the hospital bill is settled. Today it is about 120,000 AED. We don’t have that much money.

In addition, the situation is worsened due to the fact that every day 700 AED is added to the hospital bill due to the cost of using the bed and being fed.

My son has a daughter of 9 years. Before this misfortune, Andrey was the breadwinner of the family, since I am a pensioner. I turned to relatives, friends and acquaintances, but we live in a small provincial town, where people have low salaries and it is impossible to collect the required amount. At the Russian Consulate General in Dubai I was told that it does not provide financial assistance.

I am very worried about the condition of my son. He currently does not receive qualified medical care. He just lies there. Like most of those who have come out of a coma, you can become noisy and move a lot. In order not be a nuisance to the other patients in the room, the hospital sedates him, where he is put asleep for days. He is simply put in a ‘vegetative’ state.

Because of this he gets weaker every day and he often catches a cold and has a fever. We are a burden to the hospital. The hospital administration strongly encourages us to check out. We want nothing more than to return with Andrey back to Russia.

We were denied the opening of the criminal case, as my son himself must confirm that he was beaten. And most likely he will not be able to do this soon.

I am now in Dubai, next to my son. Without knowledge of the language, without money and without a home. Good people and friends of Andrey and my daughter are trying to help us the best they can. But this cannot last long. It creates a feeling of complete hopelessness, as if we are falling into a bottomless pit.

I appeal to you with a request to help me to get my son home for treatment. Any donation would be welcome and used for the payment of the hospital bill and his further treatment.
