Campaign Story
On Sunday October 11, Evelyn Mariscotes lost her battle with gastric cancer at 50 years of age. She was living with friends, who looked after her right up to the end before she was taken to St Mary’s Hospital. She left behind a sister and the rest of her family in The Philippines. The cost of repatriating her body and funeral expenses now rest on her family. The cost for the repatriation will be £3,760 alone.
Evelyn worked at the Hospital of St John & Elizabeth for 8 years. She was well-known and loved on St Joseph’s Ward. She has been described as ‘one of the sweetest nurses you could meet.’
Evelyn had a love for nursing and church. There is a scheduled viewing for Evelyn’s remains at The Westbourne Baptist Church (opposite Royal Oak station) W2 5DX on Friday October 23 between 6pm - 11pm. She will be flown back to the Philippines on Tuesday October 27. There will also be a special Mass at the Hospital on Saturday October 10 with a further mass being considered for a Tuesday.
All donations will be greatly appreciated by the friends and family of Evelyn.

Let's all help her get back to her final resting place. Far too young to leave this world, always smiling, sadly missed.
