Regulate the rental market – Malta

In Malta everything to do with private property rental is unregulated. This means that property owners and tenants have no proper framework to guide them. There is a need for regulation to stop massive hikes in rent with no warning, evictions for no reason, overcharging on electricity, substandard accommodation and even harassment by property owners.

I am trying to do something about this;

• Firstly I started an on-line petition which has now almost 500 signatures and growing - (Regulate the rental market in Malta)
• Secondly I started to distribute flyers I had printed out with a standard photocopier and then I progressed to using Xerox to print 500 at cost.
• Next comes a premium account with the petitions company and followed by some targeted advertising in media.
• The final stage is to present the petition to the Government in order to put our case for the urgent need of change here in Malta

I really could do with some help here as these costs mount up and I am just an ordinary guy with normal wages and high rent. Just €1 will help reach the funding goal of €200 and if you donate greater than €3 you will receive 20 flyers so that you also can help spread the word. Or you can just have a refillable cigarette lighter which is full of course. :-)
