Renovate Home for Mistreated Children in Romania

You can provide safe shelter and love to twelve children taken out of situations of extreme neglect, poverty, abuse, and loss and placed in the care of the AMURTEL Family home.

The home was originally constructed in 1995, and its wooden exterior has deteriorated, with the paint peeling off and the wood rotting in some places. The urgently needs renovation. There are also many other small repairs that need to be done inside, such as replacing faucets and installing flooring in the sports room.

In addition, during the emergency lockdown periods during the pandemic, the children went through several lockdowns and could not leave the courtyard. Luckily, they have a generous outdoor play space, and they enjoyed riding their bicycles extensively in the courtyard. However, this killed the grass, compacting the earth and creating very muddy puddles in the front yard that have little hopes of returning to a grassy lawn. Instead, we want to install paving stones over the destroyed area, and then replant the grass in the rest, so that they have a proper path for riding their bicycles.

Already, we are thrilled that the company Leroy Merlin has given an extremely generous donation of 2337 euros worth of the construction materials needed for the renovation! This greatly has greatly reduced the costs of the renovation, and given us a great head-start!

As this year, we have an extra-long spring vacation for the whole month of April, and the children were eager to repaint their rooms with the colors they had chosen, the older ones have been learning how to paint! So we are already doing what we can on our own, but to continue with the exterior repainting, and laying the outdoor paving stones, we are going to need to hire professionals.
