Renee Needs a Service Dog!

I've spent 18 months searching for answers, hoping for a cure for the intense pain following my knee replacement, fighting through financial difficulty, only to discover that the battle has just begun. So instead of wallowing in self-pity, I've switched gears. I'm planning for the future.

This campaign is dedicated to raising funds to obtaining a service dog and costs that will go into training my husband, James and me in the process of using and caring for one. I need a brace and balance service dog that is trained specifically to steady my gait and help me stand upright and walk. It also will help me rise and and sit from a chair, walk up and down stairs, and pick things up from the floor. Retrieving, turning lights on and off, and many other working tasks will also be required. The waiting lists are long because I'm not a veteran, but that also gives me time to raise funds.

I realize that $5000 is merely a drop in the bucket but it's a starting point. I need to start somewhere, it may as well be there!

I live in a rural community in a rural state that has no service dog training programs. I must seek my dog and training outside my home state of Wyoming and this task will be not only expensive but painful. I'm on a waiting list right now and am applying to any I can.
