Memories and Tribute to Rene Monces

Rene was a loving father to our family. He was able to provide despite the hardship. He worked hard selling vegetables, fruits and other merchandise. He also helps some of our neighbors and friends who are in need with whatever he has on his pocket and other resources available. He has influenced people in conserving energy and sustainability by sharing his best practices in planting vegetables and fruits, not only in our backyard, but also in our community.

His battle to his sickness started August 2019 wherein he was hospitalized numerous times, suffering from pneumonia and pleural effusion on his right lungs. It was in 2011 when his doctor diagnose him with enlarge heart so he was cautious and particular with his health. Ending 2019 and up to the early part of 2020 he need to visit the hospital numerous times to check if the accumulated water in his lungs has decrease. He had his cardiac arrest on March 05, 2020 and was revived and stayed in ICU for 11 days. As our bill compound and the COVID-19 pandemic, all available resources from Government and private sectors are closed in which we suppose to get assistance. It pains us that we cannot get him out of the hospital and continue the recovery at home because of our piling hospital bills.

He died on 30 April 2020 of: • Sepsis secondary to hospital acquired pneumonia with aspiration component • Acute kidney injury secondary to sepsis • Valvular disease: Severe AorticRegurgitation It was a struggle to get his body of out of the hospital as they demanded us to pay the bill which has accumulated to P 1.3 million pesos and we just executed a promissory note.

The pandemic has also left us no choice to follow the strict 2 days wake with only the immediate family on our side. His friends were not able to visit him and pay their last respect. With your kind heart and help we will be able to settle his remaining balance to the hospital and other institutions.
