Remy’s battle against Chronic Kidney Disease

Remedios Ramos-Martinez (my mother) is a retired high school teacher who is fun to be with, loved by many and has a heart for those friends and relatives who are in need. Never did we imagine that she/we will be facing the hardest battle which is fighting for her life.

My mother had an emergency dialysis, May of this year due to elevated Creatinine and stayed at the hospital for 2 weeks bacause her vitals were unstable (experienced hallucinations and sudden drop of blood sugar that made her almost into coma). Her illness came from her history of Diabetes that was triggered when she gave birth to our youngest in 1991. She had complications and went through several operations since then: Thyroidectomy (1993) and Heart Bypass (2013). And recently an IJ catheter on her neck. During the course of her dialysis, we noticed that she keeps on having reaction everytime and that bothered us since we can’t seem to see any improvement. Until such time that we had to rush her to the hospital again because her blood pressure went down to 80/60. She got admitted again after just 2 weeks of her discharge from the hospital. We tried to seek medical and financial assistance from government offices and charitable institutions but it seems that we can not fill in the expenses enough. Her last cofinement, we have spent over 400,000 already (half of it was debt from several people and half was given/donated by kind hearted individuals). And now our running bill for this whole week of confinement is around 50,000. As per hospital policy, we need to pay half of the amount for them to continue the medical service that they are providing to my mother. The problem is, we no longer have any funds to pay for the medical bill and needs of my mother.

So even if we are not used to asking help from other people, I have no choice but to beg and hope that other people might be kind enough to share their blessings to my mother and extend her life to still be able to see her grandson (I am 32weeks pregnat with my second child).
