Hi all. We, the children of Jovie Bucao, would like to ask for any financial assistance for my mother who is currently having kidney complications.
We had to rush her to the ER last Aug. 31,2018 because she felt very weak and sickly (very low blood pressure, fever, chills, high heart rate, fatigue). As per CT Scan, her right kidney has stones and has become severely infected.
The bacteria in the infection has reached her blood stream, raising her creatinine to 8.8. This was the cause of her sepsis. Her doctors ordered to have a Nephrostomy Tube Insertion the very night she was admitted on her right kidney to drain it of pus and infection. It had to be done immediately as a day later would have had fatal complications.
After the insertion, she was taken to the Intermediate Care Unit to closely monitor her vitals. Medicines were administered to stabilize her BP. After 3 days there, her BP has been stabilized and her vitals had returned to normal. However, she still had bacteria in her bloodstream and her creatinine levels, though it had been reduced to 6, were still high. Her left kidney also had stones and was also infected, but it was removed last year. However, due to the operation, her left kidney has been functioning at a very low rate, if at all. That is why the infection hit her harder this time. Her right kidney was, in fact, doing all the work for her body.
While we were in the hospital, the doctor said that she had to finish her medications in seven days to fight the infection and reduce her creatinine levels. As soon as her creatinine levels reaches a certain threshold, moves will be made to remove the kidney stone. But since the stones are blocking her ureter, it will done thru an operation.
We have been discharged from the hospital for almost 2 months now and my mother still has her Nephrostomoy Tube inserted in her right kidney as this is needed for draining of the accumulated pus/bacteria from the infection. During her last visit to her doctor, he informed us to prepare at around 200,00 for the operation. Unfortunately, when my mother was admitted to the hospital 2 months ago, our hospital bill has already exceeded our insurance and PhilHealth coverage. We have also exhausted all our financial means. Our combined savings is running short and we need about 300,000.00 to assure not just her ureter operation but her medicine and recovery as well.
With this, we are knocking on your kind hearts to provide us with financial assistance for our mother who has sacrificed a lot of things for us.
