Relocation of Sam from India to South Africa

This is Sam Apte, my non-human and only son. He is an Indian Mix breed. I picked him up from street when he was around 7 - 8 months old on 23rd July 2017. He is now 2 years and 5 months old approx.

I have to move from India to South Africa to seek employment by end of July. After a struggle of 3 years I have got the visa. This is going to be life changing opportunity and I cannot afford to miss it. But I cannot leave Sam behind also. If I leave him behind, he will be discarded and will end up on streets again where I picked him up from.

Sam was abandoned by somebody on streets and I cannot let it happen again. I know how his condition was when I found him. Me being scared shitless of dogs, a person who used to change his route if he see dogs - couldn't hold myself back when I first saw this guy. He was hiding under stairs in open parking lot of outer building of our society. I saw this fellow, so scared that he was shaking. He was scared of every little sound, every person even toddlers, every other dog, every passing-by car and everything which was either moved or made sound. Needless to say that what other stray dogs and dog haters were doing to him. Five days after that i.e. on 23rd July 2017 I managed to bring him home.

First 3 days after that I tried to give me away thinking that I live alone and how will I take care of him? But nobody was ready to adopt him because he is a typical Indian mix breed dog which you see on streets. They are considered filthy and ugly. Everybody wants an exotic breed.

So, nobody will adopt him if I am gone and I don't want to even imagine what ending up on streets again will do to him. So, I have to take him with me to South Africa no matter what and all I want is a better life for both of us.

But unexpectedly, the cost of relocation of a pet to South Africa turned out to be huge and is beyond my capacity. Hence decided to seek out help and go for crowd funding.

I contacted couple of pet relocation services in India. All of them are charging around the same. So, finally I decided to go ahead with Pet Travel (www.relocatepet.com) for the relocation of Sam. The total cost is ranging between INR 265,000 to INR 300,000 which is equivalent to in USD 3800 to USD 4300. Below is the details of charges listed by Pet Travel for their services. (However, charges are subjected to change after every 30 days.)
