My name is Jack Denny. I have always shown dedication towards joining the Police since the age of 2. As a child, I visited many Police stations and went to Police open days. From around the age of 13, I became a Police Volunteer and had other roles, including Police Cadet, Youth Commissioner on Police and Crime, Forum Representative for the Police and Crime Commissioner, Police Cadet Leader, Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator and at the age of 18, I joined the Special Constabulary and studied Policing at University. By the age of 20, I was promoted to Special Sergeant. I have acted up to Inspector too. All of these roles were voluntary and I funded my own university education also. I have also studied Law and other related subjects. I am still a Special in the Police currently, responsible for the management of around 45 officers which I do voluntarily.

I was very much community orientated as a teenager and I was a UK Youth Parliament representative. As part of this role, I set up and managed a project to reduce Anti-Social Behaviour and I debated in the House of Commons also. As part of my project, I liaised with people including the Police and Crime Commissioner, Theresa May (who worked for the Home Office at the time), Council’s and local newspapers.

At the age of 18, I started employment with HM Prison Service also, which was my full time job. I was very successful and had a lot of passion for the role as I believed strongly in rehabilitating offenders and keeping the public safe. I was based at HMP Leicester, however I worked at many different Prisons across the country. I enjoyed my role and worked in a number of different roles, including incident command.

I then started another job as a Fraud Investigator for Lloyds Banking Group and I have been lucky enough to work within Major and Complex Fraud previously, before starting my role with Lloyds.

I am dedicated to helping people and London is facing particular problems with serious and organised crime. I have been offered a role in order to utilise my skills to support in the challenges we face with serious and organised crime affecting our capital and the UK as a whole. I am 21 years old now, but feel I could play a huge part in tackling this alongside others and am dedicated to keeping the UK safe. However, I live in Leicestershire and although I have always been dedicated to my studies and a Policing career, I come from a council estate and only have limited savings as I support my parents financially too due to their medical conditions and us living in a council house. Therefore, I am fundraising for money towards my relocation costs to the City of London and am grateful for any support you can give. Thank you so much.
