Super Typhoon Rai (known as “Odette” in the Philippines) is the 15th storm to hit the country this year and is the strongest storm in 2021. The trail of the Typhoon Odette crossed the Philippine archipelago from Caraga to Eastern and Central Visayas and Palawan. It made nine landfalls in Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Southern Leyte, Bohol, Cebu, Negros Oriental and Palawan.
Typhoon Odette brought destruction and hardship to some of the most vulnerable communities already greatly suffering due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
