On Friday 28th September 2018, a powerful earthquake struck Sulawesi and triggered a tsunami that sent waves of about 3-6 meters high that devastated the small cities of Palu, Donggala and Mamuju. The death toll from the disaster has exceeded 800 and is expected to rise further.

The Indonesian government has called for international help as they are struggling to cope with the aftermath of the tragedy that has affected the lives of over 1 million people. The sheer scale of the disaster is overwhelming.

The death toll from Sulawesi tsunami is now more than 800 and increasing

Many are still believed to be trapped in the rubble as authorities are scrambling to get food, aid and water to survivors.

Many traumatized victims being treated for injuries, sleeping in tents and continued to be shaken by aftershocks. Hungry survivors have been going into unstable shopping centers to take food, clothing, and water.

What Can We Do To Help Them ? - Urgent Emergency Relief Aid Needed

Together with our partners, Global Ehsan Relief is closely monitoring the situation and are currently preparing to respond, to help those most in need.

InsyaAllah...our teams are currently busy preparing for the first round of emergency relief to the affected region in the coming week. Among the items urgently needed are :

1. Food Aid - food for a family includes baby milk

2. Mineral Water

3. Blankets

4. Tents

5. Hygiene kits

6. Medicines

10,000 sets are urgently needed in the next few days. Many survivors have faced the past few nights sleeping outdoors and turned to looting to get food and water to survive. Each set contains food, water, blankets and shelter for a family of 5.

We urge you to donate all you can. Every single amount will help to save lives especially women, children and the elderly. Our teams will be on the ground on the next few days and we will provide regular updates on the situation there.

We have been providing assistance to the Lombok disaster recently and aim to do the same here for the people of Palu, Donggala amd Mamuja.
