Release Me – Baby Franco

I humbly ask for your help for my first son who is currently confined in NICU.

I am a single mom who is trying to save my only son fighting for his survival inside my womb by the time I suddenly had an unexpected dry labor, which led me to undergo an emergency C-section procedure. As I gave birth to Baby Franco, last March 21, 2018, he weighed only 2.1 kg which is far from the normal weight of a 37 week old baby (at least 2.5 kg). He had a weak lungs reason for him to have a hard time breathing. Because of this, they use a CPAP machine attached with an oxygen to help Franco breathe. He consumed 10 oxygen tanks per day while he is inside the incubator. He also received phototherapy and was diagnosed to have Sepsis.

After 7 days of monitoring his vitals, miraculously, my little angel was healed and had fully recovered by the help of prayers from my family and friends. He also completed the 7 days antibiotic that was prescribed by his Pedia and Neonatologist. Finally, last March 27, 2018 he received a discharged order.

However, due to lack of finances, Baby Franco is still confined in NICU and it is an added charge to his bill with an amount of Php 2,000 per day. My family and friends had exerted their effort to ask for financial support, however the amount solicited wasn't enough to cover Baby Franco's bill. I also went back and forth to the Hospital's Admin Office and beg if they could allow us to have my son discharged from the hospital through a promissory note. Unfortunately, they require us to pay at least 3/4 of the bill and to present a collateral. However, what they require is something far from what we can provide.

It's been 2 weeks already and nurses are telling me that the baby must receive a direct sunlight heat. I asked if they can take him outside early in the morning, but they said that the baby isn't allowed to go out unless the bill is settled. I'm afraid in the later part that they might suggest a phototherapy that will add on my son's bill.

As a mom, I think this is the hardest feeling I could have ever experienced, not having my son sleep beside me and going home without him for 2 weeks already after giving birth to him. 2 weeks may seem years to me knowing that my finances can't help me be with my son. Even if my stitches from giving birth is still fresh and swells from time to time, I still wake up each morning to travel to the hospital just to take advantage of the time that I can be with him.

I hope you can help us be together. Your kindess and generosity is our only hope. Please help my BABY FRANCO get out of the hospital.
