Lani Greenberg is a special person. Not only does she volunteer her time and skills to save lives as part of Givat Shmuel Hatzalah, but she also noticed a serious problem and took admirable measures to address it. After responding to an allergic reaction without an epipen and having to watch helplessly as a young child swelled up, Lani rallied to make this important, life-saving device a standard component of every volunteer’s equipment pack. Easier said than done. Lani was met with logistical hurdle after hurdle, until she finally decided this undertaking was far too important to wait on. She invested 4100 shekel of her own money into equipping her fellow Givat Shmuel volunteers with epipens.

Anyone with severe allergies, anyone with a friend or family member with severe allergies, anyone with a child who may have unknown allergies owes Lani more than a thank you. It was for her community, for Givat Shmuel - where she and her fellow EMTs respond to emergencies on a daily basis - that she went above and beyond her duties as a volunteer. Though she hasn’t asked for reimbursement, please consider donating to not only repay her personal investment in her community’s wellbeing, but to supplement her efforts and secure a greater number of epipens for Givat Shmuel- based volunteers.
