The RFWU already slammed the said illegal dispersal, arrests and detention of the striking workers at the PNP Pasig City headquarters. The Regent 23 has been inquested over complaints of grave coercion, resistance and disobedience and slight physical injury.
In response to this, the labor union vows to file counter-charges against the Regent management, PNP, security agency, and other individuals responsible for the illegal dispersal of a legitimate labor dispute. No injunction nor any legal documents have been presented to the workers prior to the dispersal.
The fund-raising initative for the Regent23 Legal Fund will be utilized for the following:
1. Bail Fund. The Pasig City court decides on the filed charges against the Regent 23, we will be needing funds for the bail of the workers that is pegged at P1,134,000.
2. Hearings. Funds will be used for the expenses related to the series of hearings and Court proceedings regarding the charges filed against the Regent 23 including transportation, food, documents among others.
3. Counter Charges. The RFWU will also be using funds for the filing of counter charges in the coming days concerning the violent dispersal against their ranks.
