Even as a strict lockdown to slow the coronavirus pandemic is eased, many foreigners living in this country have no work and are hungry. Vast majority of them depend on day-to-day work - and informal source of income which have catastrophically dried up from one day to the next because of the lockdown.
In a country considered by the World Bank to be the most unequal in the world, many of these luckless people now have nothing. This is why my family and a few of my loyal friends have decided that we should lend a helping hand to our fellow African brothers and sisters with our own savings. However, our savings have not been sufficient, rather enough to buy food for the growing number immigrants and refugees who are in dire need it. We have to turn away hundreds of hungry families each day due to food shortages . That’s the reason why I’ve come to seek assistance from you compatriots in order for us to continue helping those less fortunate than us.
