This is my best friend Behrouz 4 years ago in Iran.
A lot of things have happened after that video, mostly sad and dangerous.
Rock music in Iran is seen as devil's music and the art of playing it is punished with death penality. So Behrouz had to escape his country leaving his family and his wife. He was living in Turkey as a refugee with barely enough to eat and live, when his mother died.
He was alone now and started wondering what he was living for: he fell in depression. After 4 years of bad poverty waiting for papers in Turkey, he decided to escape from Turkey on a boat and try to find a better life in Europe. That wasn't a life anybody should live. And the journey on that boat was neither any journey anybody should live: the boat started to sink in the middle of the sea, like in a nightmare, but this was reality. He managed to keep his head on the water and slowly swim to the coast of Greece, taking passengers with him to save them. On the beach were wonderful greek people waiting for them with towels and blankets: they were safe now, but didn't have anything, from clothes to documents, everyting was gone. He wanted to reach Sweden because he's got a friend living there and also because rock music there is very popular; but they were told to get on a train to northen Europe which stopped here, in Germany.
I met Behrouz in a psychiatric hospital, where he came to fight his deep depression.
He couldn't speak much German, but his Turkish is perfect and here's pleanty of Turkish people willing to help, however he had to face the racism of the psychiatrist, who told him he couldn't stay there, for nobody would have paid arefugee's medical bills and he would look neither for a solution, nor for a Turkish doctor to translate a visit.
After that day he's been in very dark moments and looking for help, but the only things doctors were willing to give him, were just a lot of drugs. Those drugs have intoxicated his liver and currently he's not able to work.
Why do I tell you all of this?
Because music could safe him from the abyss of depression.
Because Behrouz has been trough a lot, but he's alive and he's still the creative rock musician and neither his provenance, nor his bank account, nor his depression will make him any less of an artist!
I please you to listen to this ethnic rock style demo, composed by himself, which I posted at the beginning.
THIS is what he is capable of.
He deserves the chance to make music like any other rock musician who has the privilege to be born in a western country and have a good health.
He doesn't have a guitar, nor any equiment and anyone who has a clue about recording music knows that these are very expensive, so that 2.000 euros is a realistic sum just to start recording: that's why he needs your help.
Ps: Thank you for reading until here first. Probably you are wondering if you can trust us and if this is no imaginary story, but reality: if you REALLY want to help, we are willing to take contact with you and show you the documents of the hospitals which prove it.
