Campaign Story
As I currently reside in South Africa for a couple months, I am working at the Scalabrini Centre of Cape Town. This organizations aims to foster the cultural, social and economic integration of migrants, refugees and South Africans into local society. In my conversation with the welfare department of Scalabrini, they identified issues for the refugees, such as access to basic things like food, toiletries, diapers and blankets.
As Ramadan comes to an end in a week, I feel the need to give back to the community. I decided to start a fundraiser to raise money for the vulnerable refugee families with kids, the elderly and the blind. All proceeds will be used to shop for the necessities for these families, along with blankets for the homeless during these cold winter months in Cape Town. There is only one more week of Ramadan, and I am hoping to raise $500+ in time to distribute the items after Eid!
Thank you all for your generosity in advance.
