Reeturn – Saving Singapore From Plastic Waste

I am raising $1,500 for my friend David Ward, who has won a spot as a finalist at Brilliant Minds in Stockholm next week. He gets a chance to pitch his idea for Reeturn.

In summary, Reeturn is a Circular Delivery System that will help grocers and retailers deliver products in unique smart tote bags, but then get them back for re-use again. This helps eliminate single-use plastic bags but also facilitate the uptake and transport of re-usable packaging (think of the old Milkman model).

His idea is something we need urgently in a world where plastic pollution is becoming endemic. This will directly benefit countries like Singapore (where I live in) where we only have one landfill that is filling up fast soon. It will benefit many other countries in avoiding plastic pollution too.

I'm looking forward to joining him on this journey. However, the business pitch at Brilliant Minds has a chance of succeeding and this will help get the business the momentum it needs once we incorporate it here in Singapore next month.

The funds will be used to cover David's airfare and accommodation to Brilliant Minds where - if he beats the 10 other finalists - he stands the chance of sharing the idea with business leaders and get fast-tracked into an accelerator.
