Campaign Story
Dear all,
I am Sarah, chef and purveyor of fine foods by profession.
In this industry, thousands of cartons of perfectly good food are thrown out because of numbers stamped on a box: Best Before & Expiration Dates.
Looking at these items being discarded every month really hit me hard, and I would like to be able to channel these foods to people who truly need it.
As these items are of short shelf-life and still edible (I will pickdates between 1-3 months of expiry in order to be safe), they are not given to me FOC. Items will be heavily discounted and reduced to clear. If not, everything will be discarded and it's really a terrible feeling watching pallets of these items being discarded knowing there are people who can benefit from it.
Common items: Muffins, UHT milk packs, yogurt, biscuits etc.
If you'd like to join me and contribute funds to purchase these, this will be welcomed as well. We will be able to reach more families who can benefit from them, God willing.
No amount is too little, and if you know where I can channel these food donations to, do let me know as well. It need not be community specific, churches, mosques, temples, halfway homes, women's shelters etc are all welcomed.
FELLOW CHEFS: There are plenty of ingredients as well. If you are able to contribute by cooking meals for them and having ingredients contributed, I hope you can reach out to me. We're looking at all sorts of meats, cheeses, dairy, pasta etc.
