In 2015 I was hit by a speeding car while walking in the countryside in France. The driver was drunk and I was left in the snow for hours before I was rescued and taken to hospital. My lower legs were both so badly broken that several bone fragments were displaced in a shattering of my shins. I have titanium rods in my shins and screws in the knees and ankles. I had dozens of stitches on my face and head and trauma to the brain. I have recovered moderately well considering the circumstances and I am walking now with only slight pain 4 years later, but I can not run or kneel without extreme pain. I suffer with PTSD, having regular nightmares and flashbacks.

I was compensated €50,000 from the insurance company of the accident one year ago. I used the money to buy a small house in the north west fjords of Iceland. Unfortunately the house is very old and poorly heated. I have also had a very difficult time finding a job and have been living off emergency financial aid from the local municipality and red cross. I have over 10 years experience in Restaurant & Hotel management and never had a break in employment until the accident.

My family are not in a position to help me financially or offer me a place that I could live in Ireland, where I am from. I would like to raise money to move with my dogs to Paris, and going without dogs is not an option. I would like to further my education in french and start a career there. I would rent my house in Iceland to pay towards rent in France. At this time my financial situation is in crisis, I don't even have money to pay even the heat and electricity bill for the last 2 months. I have been digging in trash at the grocery store to take food that is expired. I hope you can find it in your hearts this christmas holidays to give a little, anything. Give me a chance at having a future.

In return for your kindness you can follow my journey and watch a life change before your eyes. I will update you regularly.

Merry Christmas & Happy New year
