Recovering Old Ladies Smiles

With gratitude and faith I turn to the Solidarity of my emotional circle at this time of celebration. Those who know me will know that I am not one of luxuries, vices or waste. You will also recognize my positive attitude towards the challenges that life presents to me. That is why I am grateful in advance for the financial support that I know is on the way.

I can say that the lack of work due to the pandemic did not affect me since I have no debts and at home I have my basic needs covered, thank God

But the medical expenses as a result of my Mom's broken arm and Aunt's varicose ulcer has depleted the US$3300 that I had saved during the last tourist peak season and also the remaining US$3.800 from my Aunt's inheritance.

Last week we finally turned to a specialist in Peripheral Vascular and the cost of the consultation, an outpatient phlebotomy to remove a blood clot and the cure amounted to the combined value of the monthly pensions of both ladies: US$1135,00

Dr. Lorena Grillo very generously, in view of my financial limitations due to the pandemic, charged me something symbolic and I paid it with my credit card.

Yes i know that in CR the cost of medical procedures may seem quite affordable and a family could at times spend that US$1135 on a dinner, however, the reality is such that I lack the financial resources to repay my credit card balance at the end of the month

As my next work tour would not be until May 2021, and in these times my old ladies need me physically more than a normal job (where I would hardly earn so much to maintain a 24/7 caregiver while I am away from home) I have decided to launch a virtual venture.

Now, as I know that there will be more Peripheral Vascular appointments and more after care services, I have chosen to launch a Solidarity campaign to benefit my old ladies. I have named it RECOVERING SMILES where any donation by PayPal or bank transfer is welcome and appreciated.

It is not my intention to take advantage of my friends' generosity. I am simply suggesting an invitation for a virtual drink this holiday season by donating US$10.00 (yes, only TEN US$).
