I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in 2009 just about a year after I was married. My wife was pregnant at that time with our first son. At first, I did not know what was happening to me. I started having severe diarrhea along with bloating and cramping. I went to the doctor. He recommended me to go to a gastroenterologist. I was told to have a colonoscopy procedure. I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis. Ulcerative colitis is inflammation of the intestines. I Could not eat anything. I ran to the restroom every time I ate . I lost about 45 pounds in three months. I was still going to work and it was very difficult. In January of 2010 our first son was born. I found strength every time I looked at my son to step forward and fight this disease. I was put on several medications over the years. the medication temporarily helped me but the symptoms never went away. I researched online almost every website and resources that are out there to find out what the root cause of this disease was. Some sources say it is an autoimmune disease and others say it is inherited. Regardless of the cause, I wanted to find a cure. There was none. I have been on all kinds of anti-inflammatory medications, immune modulators and biological treatments. Yes, some of them helped me manage symptoms but again the symptoms never went away completely. I started listening to my body and figure out which food worsens my symptoms and I wrote them down and stoped having those foods temporarily. I felt better. The symptoms came back again. In 2013, I started working out. I saw a tremendous change in how I was feeling. Again, symptoms never went away. In 2017, I started praying and mediatating in addition to eating the right food, excercising, and taking medication as prescribed, Since then I have been feeling much better. I don’t know if I figured out what works but I know it’s a journey and I am on the right path. I have two children, age 8 and 10. I never stopped working or stopped taking care of my children. I learned to survive while I lived the worst days of my life. I believe the worst is over and now I want to invest my time and energy in helping those that are suffering and going through similiar experiences. I want to help them and educate them in becoming more aware of their physical well-being. To do this, i need your help. Donations will go towards advertising, raising awareness, seminars, counseling, out of pocket medical expenses, newsletters and subscriptions. It is time to give back to the community and I need your help. I truly thank you from the bottom of my heart and appreciate your donations and genorisity towards the first step of this great cause. Thank you!!
