Campaign Story
Hello!
My name is Rade Mrdjen and I would like to tell you about a great
story that we can write together.
Video you just watched is about place colled Glamoc, located in
western Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is an old cummunity as traces
indicate that people lived here 2,800 years
ago. Surrounded by rivers, hills and mountains, Glamoc
provided an idilic enviroment where I and many others, spent
wounderfull childhood.
Then came the war.
Once a prosperous place with fertile lands,
Glamoc was hit by the war in Bosnia during the 1990s. The population
was displaced, property destroyed, many dreams turned into dust.
But, life always finds a way!
As once displaced person, I decided to return to fertile lands in
Glamoc with one mission: turning
Glamoc once again into a prosperous environment that will
draw young displaced people back to its roots. With your generous
help, I can achieve this goal.
Glamoc has acres of
uncultivated land. My goal is to plant at least acre of organic garlic cloves in september 2020. Why garlics? It has big
market potential and Glamoc has a very long tradition of growing it (and also keeps bad people
at distance :) ). Given that I own enough land and a newely
built house, a source of water for irrigation and helping
hands of volunteers – we have strong starting base! But, for this
story to succced, I need your generous help to buy:
- A ton of garlic cloves
- Irrigation equipment
- Planting machine
To achieve goal of this story, I need $6.000 (or 5.000 euros).
These funds will ensure self-employment for two young persons and guarantee optimistic future for young people who wish to return to Glamoc.
In the near future I have a plan to make a farm of hazelnuts and herbs, given the prospective market needs for these products, which would ultimately lead to the employment of new workers. Long-term plans are to make Youth village, agricultural cooperative and many other wonderful projects.
But, first, we need to make one step and plant lots of organic onions. I will keep you informed of the steps taken.
