Campaign Story
On behalf of my helper Bebette, I am asking for your kind donations. Bebtte has been with us for about 2 years, leaving her family behind to earn enough to feed her husband and 2 children, Rafael 11, and Sarah 9. Her husband is a small-time fisherman who looks after their two children. In June 2020, Bebette was able to build a small house through a $1,000 (P50,000) loan without interest, payable through monthly deductions until paid
Unfortunately, just after 4 months, typhoon Molave (Quinta) struck and destroyed their house. With no safe place while the typhoon was raging, her husband and her 2 children ran for their lives in the middle of the night, and took refuge in a vacant motor boat. (The pictures show the morning after the typhoon; the children still wet and shivering.) Thank God, the recent typhoon Goni missed their area, just after a week after Molave hit. The family is temporarily living in a makeshift shanty made of second hand plywoods, blankets, and tarpaulins.
We are looking to raise about $4000, to cover the cost to re-build. But this time, we are planning to build a more sturdy, stable one storey house of concrete, capable of withstanding many typhoons, given that Bebette and her family lives in a coastal area in San Francisco, Quezon. Also, a concrete house eliminates recurring expensive costs to repair or rebuild after every typhoon, which hits their area about 4-6 times a year, on average.
Rest assured ALL proceeds will be properly accounted for and will be given to Bebette and her family. Her family needs help
On behalf of Bebette’s family, thank you so much for your donations.

Status of House Re-Building as of 9 December 2020
Update posted by Ma Christina Ojeda at 03:18 amAs of 9 December 2020, we have completed the construction of the 4 sides of the house using hollow blocks. Your donation is very much needed to buy the GI sheets and wood for the roofing, as we have abandoned the concreting of the roof due to very limited funds.
